before the inventation of paper, information was passed on by word of mouth. this method is highly unreliable and prone to bias. now, with the invention of paper, people are able to keep records on what had happened around them. information are being passed on to others and future generations exactly the way the authors phrased it.
with this improvement, less inaccuracy occurs, and this greatly promotes the advancement of science and technology where each invention or technology is build on another finding of the past. if the information is incorrect, more time and effort is needed to reach the same conclusion.
