Generally speaking, the positive aspects can be listed as follows. To begin with, computer largely increases the speed of calculation and simplifies data processing. In the second place, information storage and retrieval become more than simple since the application of the computer. Most of important of all, computers make possible instant communication with people from all over the world.

However, as every coin has two sides, the negative aspects are also obvious. For one thing, technological breakthroughs often make people lazier than before. For another, too many hours at computers will do harm to people's health especislly the eyes. What makes matters worse, more and more people get addicted to computer games, Internet chat and even online pornography.

As for me, I am a computer lover since many years ago. I use the computer to search for helpful information. What's more, I use it to contact foreign friends in order to improve my spoken English and written English. So the computer do more good than harm, I thought.
