noise当作"噪音"或任何形式的不和谐声音用时通常是不可数的。
There is so much noise in this restaurant; I can hardly hear you talking.

最小的响声也会吓着她。

当可数名词用的时候，常常是指间断的、一下一下的声音，如：
This house makes noises.
