What does love mean?

PEOPLE asked some kids of 4 to 8 years old, “What does love mean?” Here are some answers. Take a look at their answers and just tell me what you think.

When my grandmother is ill, my grandfather looks after her very well. That’s love.

Love is when you go out to eat and give other people most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs. — Chrissy (age 6)

Love is what makes you happy when you’re tired. — Terri (age 4)

If you want to learn to love better, you should start being nice to a friend who you don’t like.

Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after knowing each other for a long time. — Tommy (age 6)

I know my sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out to buy new ones. — Lauren (age 4)

People did this to find the most caring (有同情心的) child. The most caring child was a four-year-old boy whose next door neighbor (邻居) was an old man. The man’s daughter had passed away (去世). When the little boy saw the old man cry (哭泣), he went over to him. When the mother asked his son what he had said to the old man, the little boy said, “Nothing. I just helped him cry.”
