Lantern Festival, or Yuan Xiao Festival in Chinese, falls on the 15th day of the lunar New Year。it's my favorite fesitival
The customs of Lantern Festival may slightly different across the country, but generally, eat Yuan Xiao, enjoy festive lanterns, guess lantern riddles, set off firecrackers and fireworks, watch dragon dancing and lion dancing are the main activities.
Yuan Xiao is a traditional food for Lantern Festival, which is a kind of dessert made of glutinous rice flour; fillings are normally the sesame and peanuts, sometimes also the vegetable or meat. i like eating it very much。

My Favourite Festival
Good morning to my English teacher, Miss Zhang and my fellow classmates. Today I am going to share with you about my favourite festival, which is Chinese New Year.
Of all festivals in China, I like Chinese New Year the most. Chinese New Year falls on the first day of the first lunar month. Each year coincides with an animal sign, of which there are twelve in the sequence of the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, dog and pig.
The celebrations last 15 days, with fireworks, dragon and lion dances, family and friends meeting, lantern festivals, and of course lots of great food! You can see happy faces and big celebrations everywhere. These noises will continue all night long and just keep going into the next day. I love it!
Another important tradition which is also my favourite part of the Chinese New Year is the "red pocket" - a small red envelope with some money inside, that married people give to the younger generation. After collecting all my red pockets, I can buy something I like. I normally use the money to buy some new stationery for school and buy some snacks to share with my cousins.
Chinese New Year is a busy time for everyone in my family. We are busy having family reunion and catching up with friends. "Kung Hei Fat Choi" and words of happiness and fortune are everywhere. For me, red packets and turnip cakes are what I should not miss during this occasion.
After the reunion dinner, my parents would take me to stroll along on the promenade and celebrate the New Year with fireworks and the traditional lion and dragon dance performances.
In short, I like school holidays, I like Mid-Autumn day better and I like Chinese New Year the most!
