Mr Smith buys a farm and pays more than it is morth because a vrry old tree is growing there and itis about 300 years old. When he is back to the city, many people don't believe that the tree is so old. So Mr Smith asks his caretaker, Nick, to find out the tree's age。
Four days later, Nick comes back."Great news, Mr.Smith !"he says."this tree is even older than we though——it's 333 years old."
"Well done,Nick," say Mr.Smith ."How do you find out?"
"that is essy,"say Nick."We cut it down and count the rings."
