第一个 因为事情已经发生了，在过去的过去，所以不能用WOULD
第二个是固定搭配
第三句的意思是 这是一个很容易适应变化的民族
第四句 看be required of sb. 某人需要 什么 sb is required to do sth ,这也是固定用法
第五句 没有用虚拟语气，因为后面的主句用的是将来时
第六句 怎么找不到谓语动词 ？
第七句 在那个时候，即过去是最高的，相当于和过去的过去比较，应该用过 去完成时
第八句 这里是省略了 who was ，并不是你所用的表示原因状语
