因为他开始打高尔夫是发生在过去，所以用过去式started 。
楼上那位说的不正确，Tiger Woods不是复数，它是名字，专有名词。starts是第三人称单数式，不是复数。

2.当拒绝别人的帮助时，说thank you all the same：还是得感谢你。

3. be born of出生于……（家庭）be born in 出生在哪里（如中国） be born with 天生具有 bore about还像没有这种用法吧

4. soon enough是很快的意思。这句话的意思是：不要担心，我们很快就会到达车站。

6. run summer courses开设暑期课程。只有A才有些意思。

7. 这题应该是替换 make up his mind吧？D选项中，如果要用decide，那么就直接是decide to do something决定做某事，不用被动。It′s difficuit for him to decide to do that.
be determined to下定决心做某事

8. instead of 代替=in place of
C：in the place of在…的地方
A：take place发生： When does the ceremony take place? 仪式什麽时候举行?
B：take the place of取代…（例如某人）的位置。题目中，已经有have这个谓语动词了，所以不能选B
