Thoughts on Reading the Newspaper
1.It is reported in the newspaper that a very old banyan tree collapsed suddenly in the street of HongKong,on Wednesday,June 28th,2010.Two people were hurt seriously.The news made me thinking.
We can hear of such bad news very often,especially during rainy and wet days.For the people safely,our government should pay more attention to the cases and take some effectvie measures to deal with the problems.We should cut down the much too old trees before they collaps.Besides,workers are supposed to send to examine the trees in the tree from time to time.

2.I read the newpaper of August 24,2010.It told me bad news. On August 24th,2010,eight Chinese tourists from HongKong were killed in Manila,Philippine mainly due to the local police's wrong acts.
Some days ago,a group of HongKong residents took a package travel to Manila,the capital of Philipphines.Unfortunately,they were kidnapped by a man who was aslo a policeman during their journey.The
police were called but they didn't do a good job.Eight HomgKong residents were killed.
The news made me both sad and angry.The Chinese tourists should not have been killed.It was exactly the Philippine government and the police that had taken their lives!

3.The newspaper tells about the near-sightedness among children.It's believed that more and more children have to wear glasses because of near-sightedness.The reasons are that they spend too much time playing video games and in front of computer and television screens.In addition,some children and teenagers are lack of the awareness of eye care.They don't use their eyes in a proper way.For example,some of them read in a moving bus.
I think it important to protect our sight.We are supposed to use our eyes properly and scientifically.We should not watch too much TV or play too much computer games.

Two hurt as banyan collapses in Central

I felt so sad when I finished reading of the news about the tragedies caused by the toppled trees. Apparently, these tragedies’ lessons we need to learn as precaution to prevent the similar ones happening.
Firstly,people should take out carefully when the weather is terrible.So here is the tips: don’t pass by the big trees and make a detour.It is unknown when these trees would fall down to hurt you. Additionally,The Leisure and Cultural Service Department should carry out more efficient preventive measures such as anchoring the trees with steels instead of ropes, in this way the former will be safer for people security than the later.On the other hand, the Department could move the old trees to the parks or zoos that we can enjoy them there as well. After all, the huge and old trees would cause some troubles sooner or later, so we should handle them well as soon as possible to avoid more danger.

'Indecisive' police under fire

The tragic incident, HongKong hostages were attacked in Philippine that shock Chinese government. Philippine government feel sorry about it, in my opinion,they should be sorry and take all the responsibility of the incident due to errors.
To begin with, the deep sorrow to the families of victims I express.In the tragedy, there is no winner.I am wondering why the negotiators failed to meet the angery gunman’s requirement? If they did, the blood incident could have been avoided.There are many accident factors of kidnapping and it is difficult to make an early prevention.However, before the Philippine hijack the name is bad-called the “city of kidnapping”. As a tourist country, the man holding a deadly weapon shooting at unarmed visitors, Philippine government should be responsible to it and take measures to protect their visitors otherwise there would be no visitor there.

Parents look blind to risks of too much screen time

More kindergarten children are wearing eyeglasses for near-sightedness because of too much time spent playing video games and in front of computer and television screens.The big problem is a lack of awareness about eye care. And children of those with eye problems or a lack of awareness of dangers are at higher risk. youngsters should be taught to look into the distance for at least 30 seconds during every 30 minutes of a reading session. Also, parents should take children for regular eye checks after they are three years old and encourage them to join outdoor activities. the popularity of electronic books will worsen the trend as text in e-books tends to be more blurred than the printed word or character. So readers must make more effort to read and eyes become more tired. Eyes are windows to realize our world so we should take care of them.
