Happy new year to you all！I’m Wudao who is a fan of a very interesting novel which called The Graver Robbers’ Chronicles.
To be honest,The Graver Robbers’ Chronicles is the most fantastic novel which I had read.
From 2005 to 2018,from “Waiting for Kylin return” to “Snow fallen on Changbai”,we had spent 13 years together.And this year is the 14th year.During this time, I had read it again and again
It’s the most charming novel which I had read. It encourages its fans from generation to generation that enter Zhejiang University’s dream.
There are 9 books in the novel.Its content is a story of some tomb robbers.During their robbing tombs,they encountered a lot of strange things.They generate a lot of doubts and surprise.And various mystery was filled in their heart.They experienced a lot of risk which you can never think of together to look for the truth,such as monsters,stratagem,traps,poisons and so on.
Most of the tomb robbers in the novel come from an old robbing tombs’ organization which called The Nine Gates in Changsha.It made of nine families:
The upper part is made of three families which called Zhang’s, Hong’s and Li’s .They are formed by dignitaries.
The middle part is also made of three families which called Chen’s , Wu’s and Hei’s .They are formed by robbers.
The lower part is made of three families,too.They called Huo’s,Qi’s and Xie’s.They are formed by traders.
The novel’s main characters are Wu Xie,Pangzi Wang and Kylin Zhang.
Wu Xie whose grandfather was the middle part of The Nine Gates is the owner of an antique shop which called Wushanju in Hangzhou.Before Wu Xie getting the warring states map by accident,he has never worried about his life,just like the man who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.He is a little cowardice but very innocent a man before Kylin Zhang leaving.So Pangzi Wang called him “tian zhen wu xie”.And Kylin Zhang for protecting his innocence,he took his place to guard the Bronze Door.Just like many fans said:“Since the man who is as strong as god left,the man who is as warm as water became an iceberg.”
Pangzi Wang is a man who loves money rather than his life.And he is very brave and has his own way to think of.I think his best advantage is that he is loyal to his friends. In the 6th book,he fell in love with a countryside girl called Yuncai.But it was sorry that Yuncai was dead in the 8th book.He was very angry and sad when he knew this.He began to try his best to look for the murderer,but he failed.Finally,he decided to stay in Yuncai’s hometown and take care of his father and sister.Just like what he had said:“I really love her and I never thought of joking.”
Kylin Zhang is a man who has some special abilities.For example,he can displace the bricks only with his slender fingers and things just spread on his blood won’t be bitten by a kind of insect which eaten cadavers.But he is a very strange man,keeping silence and disappearing are his specialty.I don’t know whether he is a hero or not,but he always tries his best to save others’ lives .He is a man who can give the men who are on his side a kind of feeling that nothing can hurt them that as long as he is here.Just like the novel’s writer called Xu lei wrote:“Kylin Zhang is a man who is as strong as a god.”And in the 9th book,he took Wu Xie’s place to guard the Bronze Door for protecting his innocence.Just like many fans said:“I’m willing to spend my lifetime in exchanging your ten years’ innocence again.”Because of this,the theme from 2005 to 2015 was “Waiting for Kylin return.”He is also became a kind of faith of many fans.
During their robbing tombs,Wu Xie had made deep friendship with Kylin Zhang and Pangzi Wang.They went through blood and fire together for many times.This made their friendship as strong as a triangle,so many fans called them “Iron Triangle”.And with the secrets emerging from the water gradually,they become more and more mature.
Without doubt, there are also other important characters besides them,such as Wu sanxing who is a robbing tombs’ organization’s leader and one of the most important clues of the story.But in fact,the true Wu Sanxing might died in the seabed’ grave of Nanhai about 20 years ago,because of his cousin called Xie Lianhuan mistake.And Xie Lianhuan for hiding his mistake,he disguised himself as Wu Sanxing so long that he thinks that he is the true Wu Sanxing by mistake.Just like what he had said:“When you worn some masks for a long time,it’s hard to take it off.”
About A Ning,who was worked in a foreign company.She was very loyal to his boss and she was the main mind in her company before her died.She also had deep friendship with “Iron Triangle”.But it was sad that she was dead in the 4th book.It was beyond everyone’s expectation,because she was a very powerful woman and a little cunning.But as strong as her,who was dead because of being bitten by a venomous snake.Just like Wu Xie said:“I never thought that she would die at first.Instead,I thought that I should die at first. ”
Chen Wenjin is an important role,too.she is a beautiful women who has strong leadership ability and loves the true Wu Sanxing.But she and her team members touched some special things in the seabed’s grave of Naihai about 20 years ago, so they won’t be old.I think you should think it’s a wonderful thing for them.But in fact,although they won’t be old,they will become a kind of monster ------- jinpo.So they began to look for the way to save their lives,but it seemed that they failed it.
Panzi is also a very important role in the story.He is a retired soldier who was very loyal to Wu Sanxing.Although we haven’t known what happened between them,it must be a very moving story.But in the 8th book,he was dead in order to protect Wu Xie whose uncle three is Wu Sanxing.Before he died,he sang a song called Red Sorghum for Wu Xie.A great many of fans were cry when read here.Many fans said:“You was dead in the book,I was cry in reality.”
At the beginning of the novel,Wu Xie got a warring states map by accident.He and his uncle three began to look for the grave in the map.
The book has its distinctive humorous language,wilderness survival,ancient culture relics,local customs and culture of ancient times legends and so on.
The Graver Robbers’ Chronicles is the most fantastic novel which we had read.If you enjoy reading novels, you shouldn’t miss it.

　　1. ambivalent 矛盾的，犹豫不决的
　　【原文】他一提到耳环的事情，我心里又感觉不舒服起来。他这话倒是说的没错，三叔那事情，扑朔迷离，线索少的可怜，而这种铃铛，瓜子庙的尸洞和海底墓里都出现过，关系重大，要是没抓住这个机会，恐怕这事情查起来就更加的困难。
　　可是想前两次的经历，我的脚就开始有点发软，心里还有后怕，加上爬山的种种辛苦，实在是不想尝试。
　　【解释】吴邪想去又不想去的心情就可以用“ambivalent”来形容。
　　2. anomaly n.反常；畸形
　　【联想】atypical a.不规则的；异常的
　　【原文1】让我大吃一惊的是，这具男尸竟然长着十二只手，呈环形排列在身后，而且十二只手都在扭动，就像庙中的千手观音一样。

　　【原文1】我翻找了尸体上所能找到的一切，但是再无任何线索，这些人谁是谁，我也搞不清楚，我心乱如麻，昏头转向的就往墓道里走去，连手电也都没有拿。
　　【解释1】There was a dearth of reliable information/ a paucity of information。天真严重地缺乏可靠信息，或者说线索。
　　【原文2】胖子道：“我算过，剩下的东西，我们省着吃能吃两天，勉强够我们一路顺利的找到口子出去，但是现在多了一个小哥，我们就没有别的办法了，就算能安全到达地面上，我们也必须挨饿穿过雨林。现在水已经下的差不多了，沼泽肯定已经露了出来，穿过去一定是极其艰苦的过程。你如果再坚持等下去，明天我们就要开始挨饿，饿上两天你就不会有力气在出去，我们就等于死在了这里。”
　　【解释2】吴邪和胖子和小哥三人的困境：a food scarcity。
　　5. prattle=babble 闲扯
　　【原文】胖子叹气道：“可惜没法上去看看，不然也许长生不老药就在上面。咱们吃个一打，也直接上月亮上去，不知道嫦娥最近混得怎么样。”
　　我拍了一下胖子，叹气道：“你终于露出马脚了，天蓬元帅，难怪我看你得体形这么面熟。”
