《月亮和六便士》中：It is not strange, then, that those who wrote of him should have eked out their scanty recollections with a lively fancy, and it is evident that there was enough in the little that was known of him to give opportunity to the romantic scribe; there was much in his life which was strange and terrible, in his character something outrageous, and in his fate not a little that was pathetic.

句中两个 a little that是什么来的？？？？
那个分号；有什么作用，分号前后是两个独立的句子吗？还是有什么联系？？？？

第一个  "in the little" （group), 后跟that从句体

第一个  there was ... not a little ... in his fate   that was pathetic.

分号前后不是两个独立的句子，是一个句子；只是分号前后的句子结构不同，分号起了标示分号前后的句子结构不同的作用。
