sothat的用法如下：

so that引导目的状语从句时,表示“以便；为了”,从句中常使用can /could /may /might /will /would /should等情态动词或助动词；引导结果状语从句时,从句中一般不用can和may等词,在so that前可以用逗号,意思是“因此;所以”.如：

• The little boy saved every coin so that he could buy his mother a present on Mother's day.

• She bought a digital camera online so that she would save a lot of time.

  so that 意为“以便”，“结果”,可以引导目的状语从句和结果状语从句。so that 引导目的状语从句时，在从句中往往有 can, could, may, might 等情态动词，通常主句在前，从句在后，主句和从句之间没有逗号隔开；so that 引导结果状语从句时，从句之前常有逗号与主句隔开。例如：
  
  They set out early so that they might arrive in time. (目的)
  他们出发得早，以便能及时到达。
  They set out early, so that they arrived in time. （结果）
