What is a good student? To be the “teacher’spet”, to be the “crowd pleaser”, or to be the “star” in the school? They may catch people’s attention here and there, but I believe that a good student is the one who is passionate in learning.

The word “student” itself indicates that he/she should be someone who studies first and foremost. Through learning, students gain the necessary knowledge to understand the world and lay the foundation for the next step studies. Knowledge helps not only to explain “what”, but more importantly to find out the “why” and eventually the “how”. Through learning they also acquire skills so that they will be independent workers once they enter into careers. Through learning they will also get to know what is right and wrong, and to regulate own behaviors, that ensures the students will one day grow into a responsible citizen in our society. Finally, through learning, they will know how to keep themselves healthy, to be fit for the future tasks that are to be laid on their shoulders.

In short, as we know a good student should be a conscientious learner, be well disciplined, and be physically and mentally healthy, which can all be improved if he/she is truly passionate in learning.
