1.c many后面要用复数形式。名词的复数，当是两个名词组合时均需使用复数形式，man的复数是men，nurse的复数就是nurse。

2。c 名词的所有格。A of B译为B的A，A是B的特征之类，如surface of it就是它的表面。而当A是B的所属时，B必须使用所有格形式。这句的意思是我不喜欢约翰的姐姐的那个儿子，都要用所有格形式。

3。b the是定冠词，用于具体指示某个事物。这句中只是说明他们之间的关系，不是表兄妹而是亲兄妹。

4。 b 学英语就是learn English，中间没有the，在哪一年用in 1980，如果要强调这一年用in the year of 1980。

5。 a 攻读工程学是study engineering，固定搭配。

6。 c 几个词的意思不一样，这句话的意思是他们的学校没有我们的（学校）大。their和theirs都翻译为他们的，our和ours都翻译为我们的；theirs=their+school ours=our +school。所以前面有school就选their，后面没有就选ours。
