when while和as的区别

谈论同时发生的事情或同时存在的情况，可以用when，while或者as。它们之间有些区别。

同时进行的长动作，最常用的是while，一般过去时和过去进行时都可用，如：

While Tom was sitting(或者sat) biting his nails, I was working out( 或者 worked out) a plan to get us home.

这种不可用when 或者as代替。as 可以用来说明两种正在发展或者变化的情况的，如：

As I get older I get more optimistic.

as 或者just as 表示两个短动作或事件同时发生，这时也可用when，如：

Just as he caught the ball there was a tearing sound.

I thought of it just when you opened your mouth.
