关于孩子课后上不上补习班的观点的英语作文

The cartoon given above shows us an all too familiar sight: a terrified pupil with
a very big bag stuffed with textbooks is walking on the way to school, followed by
such additional courses as learning piano, violin, calligraphy and computer. Through
the cartoon the author tries to indicate that nowadays many parents expect too much
of their children. They prefer to imagine a road to success for their children: the
more knowledge their children learn, the brighter future they will have. To achieve this purpose, they send their children to take all kinds of remedial courses at
great expenses.
It is, of course, difficult not to sympathize with the motives of these parents.
Clearly, they are doing so with the very best of intentions. Today, the young parents
in China have only one child. It is natural that they place high expectation on their
children. They wish their children to receive m ore knowledge other than normal
education at school and to develop in an all-round way, which they believe will be of
great help for their children to compete in a more competitive society in the future.
Certainly, it is good to see many parents care much about their children’s study.
But, in my opinion, parents should not merely pay attention to their children’s
study. They should never neglect to foster their children’s abilities and personal
qualities. True, it is important for children to have more knowledge, but parents
should know that a child poor in his ability will accomplish little in his future
career. Besides, parents should never force their children to learn what they have
no interest in or to “eat” too much that they are not able to digest.
