为什么很多英语文章都是用过去式的？

我看过很多英语文章，英文小说（例如：《阿尔卑斯山的少女》），里面的文段都是采用过去式？不应该是现在进行时吗？
最好能举个例子~

文章的主要时态应该睁渗行是一般式，很多文章都是一般式的，喊祥由于像小说故事等都是虚构的或是讲未知或过去的某些事，这时用一般过去式会显得好些。
例子是很多的，简单悉哗举两例吧
故事：艾丽丝梦游记（ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND）
小说：飘（GONE WITH THE WIND）
另提醒一下。一般现在时也是属于常见的，而将来时也可和过去时一样用来写虚幻的假象的小说这类的文章。。。

可以用一般将来时写，好锋这样就是寒假计划了，我用过，效果还可以但不如过去式的，还是推荐用过去式。写的多一点，像去了哪里，干了什么，玩了什么，吃了什么，最后加我很高兴什么的，再问一句what
