在暑假中的一天,天气非常炎热,我想帮助爸爸妈妈做一点事,我就去卖报纸.第二天早上,我很早就出门了,气温很高.我到了报社,已经很累了,进入报社大门,已经有很多人了,一位老爷爷帮我拿到了报纸.在街上,我不知道怎么卖,就站了半个小时.后来,我边叫边卖,一天下来,报纸都卖完了,我赚了很多钱,我很高兴
it was such a hot vacation last summer.the day was hot ,but i wanted to do something to help my parents and i set up my mind to sell newspapers.i went out early the next day when it was really hot.i was so tired when i arrived at the newspaper's.there were a lot of people and a grandpa helped me get the papers.i didn't know how to sell and stood stillon the street for half an hour .but then,i knew how to sell.i made a lot of money by selling all the papers .it was such a happy day that i would treasure for ever!

The old gentleman next door
There is this old gentleman that lives across the street. His name is Mr Thompson, a very nice fellow. I have never asked his age (for that seems rude), but I guess that he is at least seventy. Every morning, when I leave for school, I can see him weeding and watering in his garden before the sun is up. He grows a lot of roses: red ones, white ones and ones that are of the palest champagne colour. When you pass by his garden, you can smell that the air has been sweetened with the perfume of those lovely flowers. I know that he would usually read or do some gardening during the day (for it can be really warm underneath the sun; it’s too heated for someone of age). In the afternoon, when I return, I would see him in the little park in the neighbourhood with his friends. They enjoy playing cheese. Mr Thompson is about the best player among them and almost wins every game. These old gentlemen would also talk about some current new issues and go around for a stroll (some also bring their dogs, but Mr Thompson does not have one). They would only return home after it has all gone dark.
