Whether students should exactly follow their parents' instructions has caused heated debates.
It's doubtless that students are currently suffering from much pressure from peers' competition and parents' high requirements. They're asked to take many extra after-school courses that they don't even like some of them. Students can partially understand their parents' stunning wishes for them. However, it doesn't mean students shouldn't have any free time and their own blueprints for the prospects. If students can only gain knowledge under strict parenting, they're learning at a negative and reluctant way. For this reason, I don't agree with strict parenting. It not only undermines the family's bondings between parents and their children, but it also gives students too much anxiety and strain.
To summarize, I believe students should have their own plans for their studies and lives. Meanwhile, they can consult with their parents if they have any problems.
