曾在1993年和2003年两度试图检控迈克尔杰克逊“娈童”的地方检察官汤姆斯奈顿于11月1日因癌症死亡，年龄73岁。歌迷一直认为斯奈顿对MJ怀有多年的宿怨，虽MJ最终被证清白，但代价惨重。MJ曾被其裸体搜身和遭受抄家等屈辱，于是他写过一首名叫《D.S.》的歌，公开怒唱斯奈顿是个“冷酷的人”。

4分49秒的长度，这首歌往往被视为讽刺圣巴巴拉县地方检察官Tom Sneddon——(全名Thomas Sneddon Jr.)。歌曲原打算定名“T.S.”就是“Tom Sheldon”名字的缩写，后来考虑太过直接改为“D.S.” 。曲中Michael Jackson首先发音为Don Standdon，而后为Donas Standdon，音似“Thomas Sneddon”，具争议性。
