当to用作介词的时候,后面跟表示动作的动词时,要把这个动词通过加ing变成“动名词(动词加ing,用作名词时,叫动名词)”。
例如:
He is used to getting up early.他习惯早起了。
这里的to是介词。
He preferred staying at home to going out.
