Cui Changsheng was born a mute. But he was a very filial son. The townsmen called him "Mute dutiful son". He was not only mute, but also had a twisted left hand. He raised his parents by working as a servant. Later, his town experienced famine. The dutiful son had to beg food outside. Someone had pity for him and gave him some chaff. But he kept it in his eating utensil. He only ate the weeds he dug. After going back home, he supported his disabled father and sick mother under the eaves and gave all the chaff to his parents. His parents depended on the food to survive.
One day, he saw a pile of wasted paper on his way, in which he found others' lost property. He waited for the owner but without result. One month later, there was still no one else claiming for the money. Then he spent the money on a pig. After the pig gave birth to piglets, the dutiful son began to prepare coffins for his parents. He was honest and trustful. After the death of his parents, he cried his heart out. He buried his parents in desolate mountains. From then on, no one knew exactly where he had gone.
