After MCI and Sprint merged together, their sales volume is still smaller than the first company in America -- AT&T.
It is said that the directorates of MCI and Spint approve the merge on Monday evening. This deal is the newest event among those merges with large asset in telecommunication industry in these years. The result of the Telecommunication Act in 1996 contributed to series of mergers. Seven Baby Bells has already shrunk into four and now the four long-distance telephone companies will become two.

It seems that the merge between MCI and Sprint will not be blocked by those departments of administration in federal, but the two company should get rid of some asset. William Kennard, the chairman of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has shown his concern on the reduce of competition that led by the merge.

Most of the executives of the biggest telephone company believe that the telecommunication industry will be dominated by several giants in the next ten years. All of these executives hope to merge their companies into one big company. They hope their company can provide comprehensive services including places, long-distance communication, wireless, etc. They hope their scope of service is as large as to reach the farest offices of their giant customers.

However, the customers might not aware of the instance effort that generated by this deal no matter where they are, since the charge of long-distance communitacion has came down.

William, the chief director of Sprint agrees with the merge with MCI all the time. His reason for merge is that the merge is easily to get approval from Federal and has a broad prospect in the future.
