Our engineers have thoroughly checked the latest 3D drawing and found it is very difficult to do the modification, to remove material will have to weld on a big area and add some inserts, however, they will have the following problems as previous informed,
1. the inserts will pass through the waterlines of cavity and core, so we have to have the waterlines welded and all waterlines will therefore be out of use.
2.the cavity and core are hardened steel (2344?), due to the big welding area, we have to adopt argon welding method, which will to some degree anneal the area around the welding place, so greatly reduce the mould lifetime. It will also make the ca/co broken around the welding place and hence new problems occur, so we are quite not sure the welding will work fine.
Considering the above, we suggest to redo the cavity and core and inserts as previously advised, but the mouldbase and some electrodes are still usable and need not to re-order or redo.
