不定式表目的是不定式作状语的一种、
例如,I stayed there to see what would happen. to后面所接的这个动作see就是前面这个动作stay there的目的.意为“我呆在那儿,（目的是）看看会发生什么.”
有时为了强调,不定式前可加in order或so as.如：
Bob took down my telephone number so as(in order)not to forget it.
有时可把in order to或不定式置于句首,但so as to不能这样用.例如 In order to arrive at work on time, he took a taxi.(为了上班不迟到,他打了一个的.)
但不能说So as to arrive at work on time, he took a taxi.
这样讲能明白吗?
