The most precious gift that I have ever received is from my father. My father is an engineer who works abroad. I can seldom see him because he only come back home twice a year. He always comes back at Spring Festival to stay with us for a very short period of time. I really cherish the time I can stay with my father. Last year, my father gave me a surprise when he came back from abroad. He gave me a book as my birthday present. I know some people may think that a book is cheap and it is the most valuable thing for me. The book is Harry Potter written by J.K Rowling. More surprisingly, the book is written in English. I read the book at that time although my English was not very good. I also checked dictionary when I met some unfamiliar words. With in three months, I finished the book and my English improved a lot. I also learnt from Harry Potter to be independent and brave. I think my father wants to teach me to be independent when he is not around me. And he also wants me to be brave enough to face any challenge I will encounter in the future. I really appreciate my father and that book becomes my most precious gift. (220字)
