With China's status increasing in the world, Chinese is becoming incresingly popular among foreigners.Just take 2004 for example ,around 25 million foreigners began to learn Chinese,and by 2009, the number had been up to 40 million. As far as I'm concerned ,there are many reasons accounting for the phenomenon.
firstly,With the international economic development ,especially since the Chinese reformation and open,Chinese is widely used in politics,economy,military affairs and culture.It becomes as important as China, so more and more people begin to learn Chinese,and it becomes very hot.secondly,

more and more people are interested in modern China .They would like to know about Chinese politics，economy，culture and history in order to communicate with Chinese people.

To sum up,China is playing a more and more important role in the world ,thus, it is a necessary and sure thing for foreigners to learn Chinese and know more about China.
