In 2007, I refused the offer from a nationally well known university (Hebei University of Technology) and decided to go to the most spectacular, internationally well known, and the "most beatiful university in the world" UMS in the hope to experience different cultures, enrich my knowldge and obtain a broader world view. I have put in my best efforts at studying the language and sucessfully passed the language test, and now is able to go to my dream university.

Though my GPA for the previous three terms did not meet the bench mark of two, but because my GPA satisfies the criteria, I applied to the university for a chance to continue my study with a GPA of XX in term 4. After anxiously waiting for a term, my application was unsuccessul in the end. In term 5, as the university no longer accepts applications, I went to consult the teacher who is in charge of international students at KK, and his/her reply was that I can apply for a second time and that my marks meet the requirements. After returning to Labuan the next day, I immediately applied a second time to my course department, but it was unsuccessful again. When I received the notice that my application was unsuccessful at the end of the term, I was very upset and confused, not understanding why did my application fail twice, why they did not give me a second chance to study, but gave me a letter that advices me to drop out instead. The reasons for my unsatisfactory results are as follows: firstly, I was unaccostumed to the Malay weather when I came here, and often had flus and fevers. As I was worried that I would spread the germ to other classmates, I had to take a sick leave, resulting in my inability to attend all my classes, thus affecting my results. But, when I am well, I continued to study very hard. Now, after exercising these years, I can cope with the weather here, and my study conditions were improved. Secondly, whenever the term starts, I have to board a ferry from KK to come to Labuan, and I am sea-sick, so my body need a long time to recover. Lastly, as I am from a non-English-speaker background, I had difficulties with language when I first came to the unviersity, hindering my study in early times. This results in my unsatisfactory results and affected my total score. Due to the above situations, I was unable to obtain the bench mark for GPA.
