Many college graduates think that a degree is an automatic pass to a job or a career. However, job-hunting can be tough. Here are some common problems college graduates should pay attention to before getting a job.
They don't take much time to prepare resumes. It is partially because they don't know exactly what to prepare and how to prepare it. It may be the reason that they take it for granted that they have got a forcible resume. However, as we know, a good resume should reflect one's wide range of skills and it should be proofread again and again by you and your friends or teachers.
They don't know where to search for jobs. They just scan websites here and there and post one as long as they find job vacancy. After long wait they only find it a waste of time because of no results. The best way to look for jobs is to go to companies in person if possible and ask about job vacancies, scan company websites "about us" or "career" sections. If they say they aren't hiring, don't get discouraged. Ask to leave a resume on file, ask when they might be hiring in the future, and do it all with confidence and a smile. Sometimes job searching on the internet can give you a sense of false progress.
They don't know much about the job they are applying for. It is a big problem because you may be embarrassed when unable to answer properly the questions asked. Therefore, make full preparation once you decide to go for the interview.
Apart from these problems graduates may confront, there may be some other issues they have to care such as how to dress professionally for interview, practice interviewing and be confident, to name just a few here.
