the Circulating Water System (CWS) is designed to the requirements of the overall plant design criteria for nonsafety-related systems as specified in the DCD Plant Design criteria as specified in reference 12.2.1. In addition, specific design criteria and objectives have been developed as described below.

The functions performed by the circulating water system are necessary for the continued normal operation of the plant. It is, therefore, designed to operate in a very reliable and failure-tolerant fashion.

The CWS is not specifically designed to function following low-probability events, such as fire, seismic, sabotage, passive failures, multiple-active failures, etc., since it is not a safety-related system. For these events, the function of cooling the reactor will be satisfied by the passive safety systems.

The CWS is designed such that a leak, pipe break or other failure of the system will not prevent any safety-related system from performing its function.

The CWS is designed to transport cooling water from the Yellow Sea. The seawater is brought into the pump bay by a seawater intake channel. The CWS pumps discharge the seawater through the condenser where heat is absorbed, and discharge back to the Yellow Sea where the heat is dissipated. The CWS minimizes fouling of the condenser through chlorination and condenser tube cleaning provisions.

2.0系统设计标准和目标
