所以这次的青年旅舍设计，我的重点放在了如何增加旅客之间的交流，如何缩小入住人群之间的距离感，让他们的生活交织在一起，而不是形同陌路，以呼应青年旅社的宗旨。

最初的设计理念希望整个建筑能给人们一种“家”的感觉，虽然住进来的人一开始时互不相识，但最终会变成一家人，变的更加温馨。所以，在设计之初，建筑外形就采用了传统的坡屋顶和院落式结构，门厅则使用了一个“家”的印象，简单的“人”字形坡屋顶，黄色的木结构，让旅客一瞬间联想到家的感觉，然后再入住进去后，心理上已经减少了与陌生人的距离感。

坡屋顶的结构，也符合该建筑的周边环境，简单的叠加，给人以苏州街巷的感觉。

旅客房间的设计也是为了消除距离感的目的，摒弃传统的串联排列方式，而让房间本身就可以围和成一个庭院，中间的空间形成一个交流的“客厅”，可以说每几个房间就会形成一个套间，而相邻套间之间的阳台又是相互联系在一起的，最终使得每个房间都不是孤立的，以此达到增加旅客之间交流的目的，让建筑空间来来拉近人与人之间的距离。

这种排列房间的方式，也丰富了建筑的立面造型。
