Filial piety as one of the most important spiritual tradition in Chinese culture, has been emphasized for thousands of years in the history. However, the young people in the modern society has been called "the generation who forget their traditional spirit of filial piety”. Some of them leave their helpless parents in nursing homes instead of taking good care of them, and rarely visit them. As the 24 requirements of dutiful children have became one of the hottest topic as soon as its publication, the modern Chinese society is eager to know a more accurate definition of filial piety, an important traditional Chinese morally spirit. Therefore, to fulfill the eager of the citizens and reemphasize filial piety, Chinese government should regulate and advocate the 24 requirements of dutiful children.

The publication of the 24 requirement of dutiful children meets the publication’s eager about the popularization the spirit of filial piety. Because the young generation in the current society are named as “ the generation who forget their culture and tradition”, the public are worry abut how to educate the offspring to accept and apply the traditional Chinese spirit. Also, compare to the times before the establishment of the Republic of China, when people have very accurate regulation of how a people should act, the modern society does not have any written regulation about how a quality citizen should act like, which leads to result that the younger generations do not know what they should do to be a dutiful children. However, the 24 requirement of dutiful children can be a good model to the younger generations and tell them how to show their filial piety to their parents.

As the 24 requirements of dutiful children has been released, young people who are confused and blur about what is filial piety and how to be a dutiful children could get their answer immediately and their confusion can be solved at once. Also they can learn the culture of filial piety accurately, so the elderly would not need to worry about their offspring understand the tradition in a wrong way.
