这两题都是what引导宾语从句，做介词after的宾语。在宾语从句中，what充当主语。what引导名词性从句，很多时候没有确定或者具体的意义，翻译的时候只能意译。
试比较：She was educated at Beijing University, after which she went on to have her advanced study abroad. 此句中which指代前边整件事情，在从句中which充当after的宾语，after which构成从句的时间状语。
