After I left WeiHai, I flew to Shanghai. I stayed at the airport hotel for
a few days. I went to visit World EXPO again and again. But I only saw a
few of the 200 pavilions because of the long queuing. It took 5 hours queue
just to see the vast Chinese pavilion. When I visited the previous World
EXPO in Japan in 2006, there was no queue, just walked in.

I returned to Australia last week. I am very grateful for your help while I
was in Rushan. Your knowledge about China in general and about Rushan in
particular is superb.

Towards the end of next month, my wife and I will go to Southeast Asia
holiday for 3 weeks. We plan to spend most of our time in Malaysia,
Cambodia and Vietnam. I visited Southeast Asia many times in the past 30
years. Each time I saw delightful progress in their economic development in
their countries. Of the more than 100 countries which I visited in the past
3 decades, I dare say that none of them could match the speed of economic
development of China. I am glad to see that the hard work done by our
countrymen of this generation will vastly improve the living standard and
wellbeing ness of future generations.

Since my semi-retirement from my profession, I spend about 4 months a year
travelling outside Australia. I will go to Rushan when I can spare some
time. I love to travel in China. Although I have travelled to many parts
of China, I have not been to XinJiang.

When you and your wife decide to travel to Australia, please let me know
well in advance. You will be very well looked after from the moment you
arrive in the country. The best time to visit Australia is in the spring
(March, April & May) of Southern hemisphere.
