Dear Sunny,
I've read your letter and I totally understand your concern. Actually, many students nowadays have difficulty with getting along with their age mates, especially those who differ in characters. Here I'd like to share some suggestions.
Above all, one thing that you have to, not only know but also understand, is that WE ARE DIFFERENT. We were born with different genes and grow up in different surroudings. We see things in different ways and we react to things in different manners as well. Only when you understand this can you understand why your neighbor care about trifles.
Secondly, calm down every time you are about to get mad. I can see that you are straightforward and those who are straightforward tend to lose temper when facing disagreement. I am sorry that your neighbor gets mad at you about small things, but you should also pay attention to what makes her angry and think about whether you are to blame as well. After all, it takes two people to fight, right?
Thirdly, communicate with her when you are both calm. Talk about it. Share with her your disatisfaction, and listen to her about the reason for her constantly being angry. And then figure out a compromise.
