Shane Van Dyke is an American actor, screenwriter, and director. Born in to a Hollywood dynasty, Van Dyke makes up the third generation of actors in the distinguished Van Dyke family. He is the son of renowned actor Barry Van Dyke (Airwolf, The Love Boat, Diagnosis Murder) and grandson of the legendary entertainer Dick Van Dyke (The Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Poppins, Night at the Museum.)

Although Van Dyke grew up in midst of the Los Angeles entertainment industry, surrounded by the Who’s Who of Hollywood, his professional acting career began after graduating high school, when he became involved with the theatre program at Moorpark College in California. After studying under some of the best acting instructors around the United States, and honing his craft with extensive stage performances with regional and national theatre companies, Van Dyke launched his television career as one of the leading characters on the hit CBS television show, Diagnosis Murder.

In the years following his role on Diagnosis Murder, Shane continued studying the art of acting and pursued his showbiz career by working on television shows like Bold and the Beautiful, as well as several independent films including, the highly acclaimed, Arizona Summer.

In the summer of 2007, Shane was once again re-united with his grandfather and father in a series of Hallmark Channel Original Movies, titled Murder 101. Around the same period, he also co-starred in the Hallmark mini-series, Shark Swarm, opposite John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzards, Nip/Tuck, Smallville) and Daryl Hannah (Blade Runner, Steel Magnolias, Kill Bill.)

Other than being a skilled actor, Van Dyke is also a prolific screenwriter. He recently gained literally representation with Mad Hatter Entertainment, a prestigious Hollywood production and management company with several powerhouse clients, and has performed screenwriter duties for various films including, The Transmorphers, Street Racer, and The Day the Earth Stopped.
