apply to 与apply for区别就是意思稍有不同：

1. 同为“申请”之意时，apply to的宾语在内容上则应当是对之作出申请的个人或机构，例如秘书 (secretary), 经理 (director), 大学 (university, college)

例句：

apply for 的宾语在内容上应当是希望获得的事物，例如工作（job, work），职务（post, position），奖金（reward），签证(visa)
