The Spring Festival
The Spring Festival is a very important festival in China. It’s on the first day of the first lunar month. Before the Spring Festival, people have bought presents, like, meat, fruit, flowers drinks and some things for themselves.
Spring Festival, also know as the lunar New Year, is the greatest traditional festival. It is usually a time between late January or early February, which means rest and relaxation between winter and spring after a year's toil, and means celebration as well. Before the Spring Festival, people clean their house, put red couplets on their gates, and set off firecrackers, according to fairy tale, for driving a demon, named “Nian” away. On the eve of the Spring Festival, a get-together banquet is a must, and the most popular food is Dumpling, which is supposed to bring good fortune. On the first day of the new year, everybody wears new clothes and greets relatives and friends with bows and congratulations wishing each other lucky during the new year.
Dumplings
Since the Spring Festival marks the first day of a brand new year, the first meal is rather important. People from north and south have different habits of the food they eat on this special day. Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year throughout the west.... Some families will also prepare for eat dumplings, Chinese dumplings stuffed with meats In Northern China, people usually eat dumpling which is shaped like a crescent moon. It is said that dumplings were first known in China some 1,600 years ago. The Chinese pronunciation of Jiao Zi means midnight or the end and the beginning of time. According to historical records, in ancient times people from both north and south ate dumplings on Chinese New Year's Day. Perhaps because Southern China produced more rice than any other areas, gradually, southerners had more other choices on New Year's Day
Red pocket
Another important tradition which is also our favorite part of the Chinese New Year is the "red pocket" - a small red envelope with some money inside, that married people give to the younger generation. Parents always give their children red pocket to wish them study good and happy in the next year. After collecting all their red pockets, they can buy something we like. they normally use the money to buy some new stationery for school, buy some snacks to share with their cousins, buy some fireworks to play with and buy a new bicycle.

Spring Festival is coming.It is China's traditional festival ,and it's also the one of the most important festivals .I like Spring Festival because it brings many interesting things to us.
On the eve of Spring Festival ,the parents always buy all kinds of goods, like food, clothes in the shopping store and do some cleaning .In the morning of Spring Festival ,we wake up earlier and say Good Luck and Happy New Year to each other when we come across . Antithetical couplet are posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate .Parents are busy with preparing different kinds of dishes .Each family its members gather together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strikes twelve at the same time friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other.Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to welcome the new year.
We always have many wishes of the new year and I think after we make great efforts they will be coming true.

Spring Festival is the most important festival in China .In the evening before the Spring Festival ,families get together and have a big meal .In many places people like to set off firecrackers .Dumplings are the most traditional food .Children like the festival very much ,because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes .They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to children for good luck . People put New Year scrolls on the wall for good fortune .

The Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year is a great occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year, people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; coupletsare posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

On the eve of the new year, each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to welcome the new year. On the first day of the new year, almost everyone is dressed in his or her best. When people meet on the way, they say to each other "Happy New Year". Friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. Children indulge themselves in games.
