He telephoned the office yesterday morning, my boss answered the telephone.
what did your boss say to him?
可不可以说成He telephoned to my office yesterday morning, it was my boss answer.

第一个句子的to可以加，telephone to sb/a place
第二个句子要用强调句的话，应该是it was my boss who answered.
第三个句子如果说How did your boss answer?

你的老板怎么说的？

在中文里来理解的话，意思是差不多的。
可是在英语里这样的说法是不同的。

第一句可以这么说。第二句、第三句说法不对。第二句可以说成：
it was my boss who answered the phone.
第三句可以说成：
what was the answer your boss gave him?或者
how did your boss answer him?
