小故事 1
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

WHAT IF…
Lindsey SwierWhat if you could speak face to face with Jesus? I’ve wondered that so many times in my life…if I got the chance to talk to Jesus, what would I say? It’s a day that I believe is so far beyond imaginable that I couldn’t even envision it in my wildest dreams. Throughout our lives, we accumulate so many questions that we long to know answers for, ranging from why is the sky blue to why did my little brother have to die. A lot of people have said that when you get there, none of those questions will be important anymore, which really does make sense, but I still can’t help but wonder, what would he say to my inquires of life’s many mysteries? Right now I’m only sixteen and already God has saved my literally saved my life more than once. If I could speak to Jesus, I too believe that all my questions wouldn’t be the first to come to mind, but just all of the ultimate thanks I have for him. Just earlier this week my sister, my two little cousins and myself we’re riding 4-wheeler when we smacked into an electric post at 45 miles per hour. Somehow after all being thrown off of the 4-wheeler and landing on the ground, the four of us walked away with only a few cuts and bruises. How or why God saved us that day I’ll never understand, all I know is that since that day thoughts have flooded my mind of how easily I could have killed my baby cousin, my “rockstar” as she prefers to be called, and be sitting at a funeral right now instead of here at school. That’s why if I ever got the chance to see Jesus in front of me with open arms and open ears, it wouldn’t be those long wondered questions to exit my mouth, but my gratitude. If by some miraculous chance I wasn’t completely breathless at the sight of him, and was actually able to utter words, I’d love to just tell him thank you…for giving me life, for giving me a second chance, for never doubting me when I doubted him, for raising me up when I was at the end of my rope, for showing me the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. I can’t wait for the day when I can finally sit next to him and talk past all tomorrows. I can’t wait to tell him how much I love him and speak my absolute astonishment of his extraordinarily bewildering works. Yet even more than the words I wish to speak, I can’t wait to hear what he has to say back. He hasn’t saved me time and time again for no reason at all; I know I have a purpose that I’m here to complete…will I hear him say the words “mission accomplished”? I don’t know what it will be like to talk to Jesus, and until that day, I never will, but when I do, I hope I see him smile.
