A strengthening of the Old Town economy will be
achieved by continuing investment in tourism and
the physical environment. Diversification will be
accomplished to an extent by improving retailing,
introducing more arts and crafts-related manufacturing
and by encouraging more people to live there.
Achieving this is largely dependent on propertyrelated
initiatives. As the Old Town continues to
evolve, sites and buildings continue to have new uses
introduced and old ones withdrawn. This is an
