一道SAT挑错题

2010年1月：section 6, 第24题
The people sitting behind me in the movie theatre were talking throughout the film and would not keep their voice down even after being asked to do so. No error.
这句话里的keep their voice down怎么就错了呢？voice不是/u/和/c/都可的吗？翻遍了字典也不明白啊？请各位大侠帮帮忙，解答下我的困惑啊~~~~

voice 不可数的情况
[U, sing] ~ (in sth) (right to express one's) opinion, etc in spoken or written words; influence （口头的或书面的）意见等; 发言权; 发表意见的权利; 影响: [U] (phonetics 语音) sound produced by vibration of the vocal cords and not with breath alone, used in the pronunciation of vowel sounds and certain consonants, eg / b, d, z/ 浊音, 有声音（与题意不符，两个区分应该很大的）
