这里的hang是不及物动词，见过：Two pictures hang on the back wall. 这样的句子吗？还常用倒装：On the back wall hang two pictures.
这句话= You can see many lights which hang in the trees on every side of the square.
类似的用法：The windows facing south....= The windows which face south...
这里不是See sb. doing sth. 的用法。也不是see sth. being done的用法。这里是一般的情况，已经存在的情况。
One day when I passed by a store, I saw some lights being hung onto the trees (by some workers.) 这才是看见一些工人正在挂灯。（被动）
