TOM现在正从（上星期天的交通事故中康复）。虽然他的左手仍然很弱，但是，他能感觉到冷和热。（在中山医院持续了4个小时的手术）对他有极大的帮助。在手术中，他使左手成功地被连附（attach）起来。
TOM在山路上引领一群游客时受了伤，（这导致他失去了左手）。组员们迅速将他送到最近的一家医院，然后他被空运到中山医院接受手术，（这是一家据说是能够找到的最好的医院之一）。TOM的医生目前已经为他制定出了一个安全的治疗计划。这对于TOM来说可能很痛苦，但是预料在接下来的几个月中，他的身体将会接受这只新手而不会有任何缺陷。
