Would you fall asleep in English class? Of course not! But what if the class lasted for 72 hours?
It may be impossible, but that’s just what Englishtown teacher David specchio and 26 volunteer Chinese students did from September 11,2005, breaking a new world record! Their English class broke the Guinness World Record set in Poland of 66hours.
Volunteer students had been reading, writing and singing English songs. They even held their own fashion show!
"I wanted to stop and sleep at times ,but I believed I could learn something from this activity, so I refused to leave. We had a great team and we finished together," Liu Xing said.
One of the students, 32-year-old Mary Bai, said, "The first day was difficult. After that, it got easier and easier."
As the class came to an end, an Englishtown reporter asked the students in the class a question, "How many miles is it by air from Shanghai to London?" The student who gave the closest answer won a two-week trip to study in England.
Englishtown president gave the students flowers and congratulations. He said, "You showed today that if you put your mind to something, nothing is impossible."
根据短文内容,完成表格。
When did the class end ?
1. ——————————
What did they do besides learning English? 2.---------------------------------
How many students took the class? 3. -------------------------------
Where were the volunteers from? 4. -------------------------------
Why did Liu Xing want to stop? 5. --------------------------------
