本课题研究的是高职院校教务信息管理系统，主要目的是为了充分利用优质资源和先进技术，创新运行机制和管理模式，整合现有资源，构建先进、高效、实用的数字化教育基础设施。加快终端设施普及，推进数字化校园建设。制定学校基础信息管理要求，加快学校管理信息化进程，促进学校管理标准化、规范化。建立适应教育改革与发展要求的综合信息管理系统，利用信息技术改造传统办公模式，实现高等职业院校由传统的高职院校向现代化高职院校的转变。
随着办学规模的不断扩大，教务处管理工作的内容越发复杂，要处理的数据信息也日益庞大。加强高职学院建设提高教学质量，改善办学水平的关键就是要提高教务管理的水平。而我院至今仍沿袭传统的以人为主的管理方式，枉费了大量的人力物力和时间，无法实现快捷高效，使得教学管理与实际工作严重脱节。通过这样一个教务信息管理平台，可以做到信息的规范管理、科学的统计和快速的查询，从而减少管理方面的工作量。
本系统采用基于浏览器/服务器（B/S）应用体系结构来建设，基本实现了管理信息化。满足了高职学院现在和将来对信息资源采集、存储、处理、组织、管理和利用的需求，实现了信息资源的高度集成与共享，为信息交流、教务管理提供了一个快捷的电子化手段，提高了教务管理部门的办公效率并减轻了工作负担。
系统使用MyEclipse 6.5作为开发工具，Tomcat作为Web服务器，数据库采用的是开源MySQL数据库。
