It is a habit that people always show more attention on those who have a good reputation. A person may indeed have the ability if he or she can win the honor in a large extent. While the opportunnities are always leave for those who obtain the capability.
From the point of my view, firstly, the reputation of a person represents his or her personal charm and ability. Secondly, a good reputation often brings a good credit not only in USA but also in China, if you want to loan a quantities of money from the bank, you must have a good credit. Thirdly, we Chinese have a proverb that a man can't to be what the fame refer to, so the reputation would urge the man to do better so as to leave it on.
In a word, I hold the point that a good reputation brings more opportunities.
