[摘要]作为人体的主要器官之一,心被儒家、道家、拂教、理学、中医学以及文学家、社会学家利用并加以发挥,在汉语里具有极其丰富的内涵意义。本文从文化意义的角度对“心”和“heart”作了比较与对比,分别对汉语文化语境中的“心”,西方文化语境中的“heart”,“心”和“heart”在汉语、英语中的语言意义、文化意义的相同之处及文化意义上存在的差异进行了探讨,从而归纳总结发现汉语“心”与英语“heart”在表达思想感情等语义方面差异较大。英译汉语“心”字有多种方法,关键要把握好中西哲学观点的分歧和语言文化的差异,文中提出了两个在翻译文化词语时供参考的两个基本方法:寻求合适的对应词和使用融合的翻译方法。
