其实可以这样理解,after通常后面要跟一个句子或者名词,而arrest是动词,如果要用after来开头引导,必须将arrest改成一个以ing形式开头的状语形式,而作为被捕对象必须是被动形式,所以改成after being arrested,这样便可以了
Having been arrested,he realised his mistake.第二句正确.
补充问题：
with John arrested 同样不可以,应改为：
with john being arrested ,因为有了john这个名词跟着所以后面的动词要变成分词形式,但又因其表示被动语态,因此with john being arrested
