我要参加英语口语比赛，要写篇两分钟以内的演讲稿，不知道怎么写好。借鉴些比较好的地道的英语演讲稿。过几天就要比赛了，时间紧急。希望大家帮忙，或者有关的比较好的语句也可以，提供具体有关话题的人物事迹也可以。

Life can be happy and meaningful
not long ago, a poll was conducted among students ina mikkle school. they were asked to make a choice between these two sentences ---"No one can be happy", and "One can be happy." Shockongly enough, about 20 percent of the students afreed to hte first statenent. when I asked some of my friends for their opinions, most of them thought the former statement was true. when asked for explanations, they said, "Frankly speaking, life is bitter and meaningless. But to live on, we'd better say to ourselves that there is happiness in life."
I have been thinking of this question ever since. The more I think, the more I am convinced that if we have a right attitude towards life, our lives can surely be happy and meaningful.
It is true that all people habe some bitter experience. But it is thought overcoming hardships that our happiness emerges. Many people admire Madam Curie, nd say with a sigh, "If I could live like her, I would be the happiest person in the world." But if we take a close look at her life, we will find her happiness is closely connected with he misfortunes. First of all, she ded not have a happy childhood. When she was in France, she studies twice as hard as other but lived a poor and simple life. In her research work, she had to sit up late night. She experienced many losses, too----shelost her beloved father, her dear hasband, and later her eyesight. But she never complained and never stopped working for the benefit of mandkind. That is why her life was happy and meaningful. she fought against life's bitterness and difficulties and conquered them all.
Some people complain that their work is insignificant? Workers, peasants, teachers, and scientists, they are all working for the welfare of mankind, themselves included. That is where the meaning of life lies. Bur some people seem to think little of such a life. Once a friend of mine told me he felt very wretched for having to work as teacher. " Our lives can be compared to candles. While gibing light to others, we ourselves are burtning out. Our students may become famous one day, but shat will become of us?
We shall only remain what we are---famdless and wealthless." Paradoxically, I would rather think he was giving a vivid desctiption of the nobleness of a teacher. If I can live the life of a teacher, to contribute the only thing I own - my knowledge - to the upbringing of young people, I will be very happy, because I am useful to others.
Different people may think of life differently . but of one thing I am certain: happiness never facors those who merely care about themselves, and the meaning of life cannot be understood by those who refuse to sacrifice anything for others.

I am Chinese. I am proud of being a Chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. I've learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. I've learned about the Great Wall and the Yangtze River. I've learned about Zhang Heng(张衡)and I've learned about Zheng He(郑和)．Who says the Yellow River Civilization has vanished(消失)？I know that my ancestors have made miracles(奇迹)on this fertile land and we're still making miracles. Who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our GNP ranks No. 7 in the world? We have experienced the plunders (掠夺) by other nations, and we have experienced the war. Yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----China, unyielding and unconquerable!

I once came across an American tourist. She said, “China has a history of five thousand years, but the US only has a history of 200 years. Five thousand years ago, China took the lead in the world, and now it is the US that is leading.”My heart was deeply touched by these words. It is true that we're still a developing nation, but it doesn't mean that we can despise (鄙视) ourselves. We have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. We have reasons to say proudly： we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition (雄心) is even bigger, our challenges (挑战) are great, but our will is even greater.

I am Chinese. I have inherited (继承) black hair and black eyes. I have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. I have also taken over responsibility. I am sure, that wherever I go, whatever I do, I shall never forget that I am Chinese!
